In today’s digital age, the ability to call from a computer has become an essential skill. Whether you’re working remotely, connecting with friends and family, or conducting international business, knowing how to make a call from your computer can make communication much more efficient. This article will guide you through the process, using Nuacom as an example, and highlight the benefits of this technology.
Even if you have the latest mobile phone, there are several reasons why you might want to call from a computer:
Better Audio Quality: Computers often have superior audio hardware compared to mobile phones, providing clearer sound during calls.
Multitasking: While on a call, you can simultaneously access documents, presentations, or other resources on your computer.
Cost-Effective: Internet calls, especially international ones, can be significantly cheaper than traditional phone calls.
Nuacom is a leading provider of cloud phone systems that allows you to call from a computer. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to get started:
Visit the Nuacom website and sign up for an account.
Download and install the Nuacom app on your computer.
Log in to your account on the app.
Dial the number you wish to call directly from the app.
Nuacom plans include calling from your computer (or your smartphone) to anyone from almost anywhere in the world. But that’s just the tip of the iceberg.
Imagine you’re in Ireland and need to call a colleague in the UK, and then conference in another colleague from America. With Nuacom, this is a breeze:
Dial your UK colleague’s number from the Nuacom app.
Once connected, click on the ‘Add Call’ button.
Dial your American colleague’s number.
Click ‘Merge Calls’, and you’re now in a conference call across three countries!
When you sign up with Nuacom, you get access to a host of features:
High-definition voice calls: This feature ensures crystal clear audio quality during your calls.
Auto Attendant: This is an automated system that directs incoming calls to the appropriate extension.
Call recording: This allows you to record and store phone calls for future reference.
Voicemail to email transcription: This feature transcribes your voicemails and sends them to your email.
Call forwarding: This enables you to redirect incoming calls to another phone number.
Hold music: This allows you to set music for callers on hold.
Advanced analytics: This provides detailed insights and data about your call history and usage.
Integration with CRM systems: This allows Nuacom to work seamlessly with your Customer Relationship Management system.
24/7 customer support: This ensures help is available round the clock for any issues or queries you might have.
Mobile app for calling on the go: This allows you to make and receive calls using the Nuacom service from your mobile device.
While Nuacom offers a comprehensive solution, there are other apps you can use to call from a computer:
Skype: A widely used platform for both personal and business communication, offering video and voice calls. To accept incoming calls from non-Skype users, you’ll need to purchase a local number. However, it can suffer from inconsistent call quality and requires a strong internet connection.
FaceTime: Exclusive to Apple devices, FaceTime allows free video and voice calls. Its limitation lies in its lack of cross-platform compatibility, making it inaccessible to non-Apple users.
Google Voice: This free service from Google supports domestic and international calls. However, it’s not available in all countries and the call quality can vary based on internet speed.
