The Yealink W59R is fully compatible with Yealink W60B, W70B, and W80DM DECT base stations.
W60B is best for small to medium-sized businesses, supporting up to 8 handsets and 8 concurrent calls.
W70B is the updated version with improved performance and broader support for high-density environments.
W80DM (DECT Manager) is ideal for large, multi-cell deployments and allows for seamless handover and roaming, supporting hundreds of handsets across multiple base stations.
For optimal performance, especially in environments with mobility or noise concerns (like warehouses or construction sites), pairing the W59R with the W70B or W80DM is recommended.
The default username and password for the Yealink W59R is usually “admin.” However, it’s recommended to change this password for security purposes after the initial setup.
Setting up your Yealink base station (e.g., W60B or W70B) involves a few straightforward steps:
Connect the Base to the Network: Plug in the base station’s power adapter and connect it to your router or switch using the included Ethernet cable.
Locate the IP Address: Press the paging button on the base, then use the W59R to retrieve the IP address (Menu > Status).
Access the Web Interface: Enter the IP address in a browser on the same network. Login with default credentials (admin/admin or admin/your admin password).
Provision or Register the Device: Configure SIP account details manually or auto-provision using a provider like NUACOM. Register the W59R handset by pressing the paging button on the base and selecting “Register” on the handset.
Finalize Settings: Adjust preferences such as ringtone, network time, and line assignments.
The Yealink W59R is purpose-built for rugged business environments. Key features include:
Rugged Design: IP67 rated—dustproof, waterproof, and drop-resistant up to 2.5 meters.
Crystal Clear Audio: HD voice and Opus codec support, even in noisy environments.
Vibration Alert: Ensures you never miss a call in loud areas.
Alarm Features: Programmable panic button and man-down/no-movement alarms for safety-critical workplaces.
Bluetooth Headset Support: For hands-free communication during busy tasks.
Long Battery Life: Up to 28 hours talk time and 360 hours standby.
Belt Clip and Charging Options: Comes with belt clip and supports both desktop charging and optional charging cradle.
It’s designed for demanding use cases like warehouses, hospitals, manufacturing floors, and outdoor teams.
Yes, the W59R works seamlessly in multi-cell environments when paired with the W80DM DECT Manager. This setup allows:
Seamless handover between base stations without dropping the call.
Wider coverage across large facilities like hospitals, hotels, and factories.
Centralized management of all handsets and base stations.
This functionality is ideal for businesses with large premises and a need for uninterrupted communication across zones.
Keeping your device up to date ensures better performance and security. Here’s how to update:
Access Web UI: Log into the base station’s IP via browser.
Go to Maintenance > Firmware Upgrade.
Upload Firmware File: Download the latest firmware from Yealink’s official site.
Start the Upgrade: Upload and apply the update. The base will restart.
Update the Handset: Once the base is updated, it will prompt the W59R to update its firmware over-the-air (OTA).
